I spent the cold Chicago winter months building this monster. It was a Yellow Piper Cub when I purchased it. I stripped the covering and built the "Greenhouse" windows to turn this plane into a Piper L-4 Grasshopper. These where used in the Normandy landings as scout aircraft for the ground forces. This model has an "80 wingspan, powered by a O.S. four stroke engine, about 1.6 hp. Waiting for some nice weather to take it up for a spin.

Cool plane. Nice job. You'll have to post some video when you take it up.

thats serious business! 4 stroke action niiice.
biggest rc plane i ever had was an ARF trainer with like a 0.50 about 10 yrs ago.
i augered after like 2 flights because i got overconfident and stalled/spun it comin out of a loop at about 20 agl
it was spectacular crash damage though, everything broke. engine bent crankshaft, all the servos broke, even the receiever was cracked I think.
